Everyone at some time or another goes through trials and asks themselves the timeless question..
Why Me?
1 Peter
Peter teaches us that the trials that we go through really are some of our greatest blessings.
Peter 1:7 "The trial of your faith, being much more previous than of gold that perisheth".
Often times when we feel we are living the way we are supposed to, and are still experiencing hardships we wonder what have I done to deserve this.
Peter chapter 2 talks about how through enduring your trials patiently you can be an example to others going through similar hardships. You can be an example of a disciple of Christ, and the strength that gives you to overcome such situations.
You will be a strength to the nonbelievers if you stay true to what you believe during the hard times, and it says that it will put there mocking to silence.
[To me that feels like you are gaining respect.}
1 Peter 3: 14 says, " But, and if ye suffer for righteousness sake happy are ye and be not afraid."
Happiness is a choice we can make.
If we realize that there is not growth without trial, then we can look at trials as blessings and happily endure them. Through our hard times we are refined and made stronger, we are made into the children of God that we are meant to be.
We also know that if we "endure our trials well" we will be blessed be on measure, so we can be happy for such an opportunity for blessings.
Peter 4:12-13
Just because we experience hard times does not necessarily mean we have sinned.
If you have been keeping the commandments, and wonder why did this happen to me?
Know that your Heavenly Father has a plan for you!
& He is helping you grow into the person he knows you can be,
So rejoice.
And thank Him for trusting you and giving you the opportunity to become the person you will be when your trial over..
