Gifts of the Spirit

 1 Corinthians 12: 13-22;
I am sure that there are times in everyone's life where they fill insignificant. Although we are taught time and time again in the scriptures that that is never the case! We are so loved by our Heavenly Father.
& in 1 Corinthians we are taught that we need each other [every single person] to fulfill the purposes that we are here for.
We are ALL needed.
1 Corinthians 12: 21, "And the eye cannot say unto the hand, I have no need of thee: nor again the hand to the feet, I have no need you."
We are all so important that we are compared to the hands and feet of the body. You need both of those for your body to perform regular functions.

Then when going on to name spiritual gifts there was one that Paul referred to as-the greatest. That gift was the gift of Charity.

                  Charity Is
           Suffering Long
                  Kind
             Not Envying
          Vaunting Itself
            Rejoicing in Truth
      Bearing All Things
Believing All Things
Hoping All Things
  Enduring all Things
Never Failing

Charity Is Not
Puffed Up
Behaving Unseemly
Seeking Her Own
Easily Provoked
Thinking Evil
Rejoicing in Iniquity

I know that personally I could do better in developing Charity.
The goal I have for each of you is to pick one of these attributes {just one} and work on improving it!
The one that I feel I could do better at is Not Envying.
I know that I am horrible at comparing myself, and I know that that will never lead to happiness.
I want to have more gratitude for what I DO have and to forget about what I do not.

I'm working on at least saying one of my daily prayers just in thanks to my Heavenly Father for all of my SO many blessings.
I think in doing this I can not envy and become more loving.

Another gift that they talk about a lot in Chapter 14 is speaking in tongues. I think that speaking in tongues is so important because that is our communication one with another.
If we don't have that then we don't have anything. I think that would be a very huge gift to have and good gift to pray and work for.
